Cheer Up Luv to trwający fotoreporterski projekt, w którym dokumentuję kobiety, doświadczające na co dzień różnych form molestowania seksualnego. Zdjęcia można oglądać na Instagramie i stronie www, gdzie publikuję zdjęcia i wywiady.
Cheer Up Luv to platforma dzięki, której kobiece głosy mogą być słyszalne. Bohaterki zdjęć odzyskują kontrolę nad wydarzeniami, które kiedyś stawiały je w pozycji osób tej kontroli pozbawionych. Podczas pracy nad stroną dowiedziałam się, że liczba kobiet doświadczających przemocy jest ogromna. W historiach moich bohaterek pojawiają się wszystkie formy przemocy – od obnażania się przed kobietami, po bycie obrażanymi werbalnie i atakowanymi fizycznie – wszystko w przestrzeni publicznej! Przez fotografowanie tych kobiet pomagam im odzyskać utraconą w tamtych sytuacjach władzę i rzucam światło na problem, o którym się nie mówi.
Eliza Hatch – Jestem 23 letnią fotografką. Pasjonuje mnie mój projekt – chcę go kontynuować i uświadamiać ludziom istnienie tego problemu. Kiedy kobieta ma 23 lata jest już przyzwyczajona do molestowania seksualnego, ale wiele kobiet o tym w ogóle nie mówi. Ważne jest dla mnie portretowanie kobiet i danie im szansy odpowiedzi na atak.
W centralnym punkcie moich fotografii jest zawsze kobieta w przestrzeni publicznej. Umieszczam ją w przestrzeni, w której stała się ofiarą molestowania i zamieniam tę przestrzeń w scenę, na której może pewnie stać i przemawiać. Chcę pokazywać silne kobiety w ich codziennym otoczeniu, nie słabe i onieśmielone – chociaż przecież takie też czasem jesteśmy. Chcę zamieniać negatywne wspomnienia w pozytywy.
Odkąd zaczęłam projekt odzew jest ogromny. Cheer Up Luv pełni rolę terapeutyczną (również dla mnie). Naprawdę czuję, że mogę coś zmienić i jestem pewna, że osiągnę swój cel.

Cheer Up Luv is an ongoing photojournalism project, which documents women who have experienced sexual harassment on any scale in a public setting. The project can be accessed via Instagram and the website, which both facilitate the interview series and take the format of a digital gallery.
Cheer Up Luv is a platform for women’s voices to be heard, and to take ownership of experiences that were once out of their control. I have found that the amount of women that experience sexual harassment in public is vast, and the stories unfortunately cover a wide range of things. They range from women being flashed at, to being verbally assaulted and even physically abused, all taking place in a public setting. By photographing these women and publishing these stories, my aims are to help women reclaim that space for themselves, and to shed some light on an issue that is rarely spoken about.
Eliza Hatch – I am a 23-year-old photojournalist from London, passionate about this project and with aims to continue expanding it to raise as much awareness for the issue at hand. By the time you are 23 you are used to mild sexual harassment, and most of the time women rarely talk about it. So I think it is extremely important to photograph women in their daily surroundings, and give them a chance to say something back.
My photographs are always focused on the central image of the woman, placed in a public setting. Turning the environment she was once victimized in, into a stage for her to stand on. I think it is important to show strong women in their usual surroundings, not intimidated or vulnerable as we might feel sometimes. My project has always been about making a positive out of a negative situation.
Since the project began, the response has been tumultuous, and It has been both therapeutic for the women involved and myself. I really feel as though a difference can be made, and I really hope that I can achieve the change I am striving for.
