Jest to prawdopodobnie największe zagrożenie dla globalnej stabilności, którego kiedykolwiek doświadczyliśmy. Podczas, gdy politycy nadal omawiają wpływ, jaki ludzie mają na globalne zmiany klimatyczne, skrajne wzorce pogodowe, takie jak susze i powodzie, zwiększą liczbę nagłych kryzysów humanitarnych. Jesienią 2016 roku, fotografowałam plemiona Samburu i Turkana w północnej Kenii. Rdzenne plemiona są zmuszone do opuszczenia swojej ziemi ze względu na ekstremalne temperatury i dłuższe okresy suszy. Jako fotograf i filmowiec czuję silne poczucie celu i odpowiedzialności udokumentowania tych zmian w naszym świecie. Chcę wzywać do działania.

Eva Verbeck – belgijska fotografka i reżyserka. Od najmłodszych lat podróżuj – przed tym jak ukończyła 25 lat odwiedziła 45 krajów. Podczas tych podróży rozwijała zainteresowanie dokumentacją zmian klimatu, lokalnych kultur kulinarnych i kultywowaniem agrokultury.

Jej obecny projekt dokumentalny otrzymał wsparcie od wielu znanych organizacji –Greenpeace, National Geographic, WWOOF, Slow Food international, Vice, Outside magazine, Collective Quarterly Magazine i The Atlantic.

This photo is taken out of the series Looking for water. Our world’s climate is changing. It will continue to change at rates unseen at anytime during human history. It is arguably the greatest threat to global stability that we have ever seen. While politicians continue to debate the impact that humans have on global climate change, extreme weather patterns such as droughts and floods are projected to increase the number of sudden humanitarian crises. In the fall of 2016, I photographed the Samburu and Turkana tribe in Northern Kenya. Indigenous tribes are forced to leave their land because of extreme heat and extended periods of drought. As a photographer and filmmaker I feel a strong sense of purpose and responsibility to document these changes in our world. To have a positive call to action.

Eva Verbeeck is a Belgian photographer and filmmaker. Traveling all around the world for most of her young life she has been to over 45 different countries before turning 25. During those travels she developed an interest for documenting climate change, local food cultures and sustainable agriculture.

Her ongoing documentary has received support from major organisations and publications such as Greenpeace, National Geographic, WWOOF, Slow Food international, Vice, Outside magazine, Collective Quarterly Magazine and The Atlantic.
