Portret znajomej, którą znam od lat. Robiłyśmy testy do większej serii. Mam nadzieję, że kiedyś zrealizujemy ten cykl. Uwielbiam jej wyraz twarzy na tym zdjęciu. To zdecydowanie jedno z moich ulubionych zdjęć, które zrobiłam w tym roku.
Lola Paprocka – Mieszka w Londynie. Jest fotografką i pełni rolę kuratorki, dyrektorki artystycznej wielu wystaw i publikacji. Pochodzi z Polski – do Londynu przeprowadziła się 13 lat temu. Pracuje głównie na średnim formacie i na filmie 35mm. Jest założycielką Palm Studios, platformy promującej fotografów, produkującej wystawy. Prowadzi własne wydawnictwo Palm*. Inspirują ją: architektura późnego modernizmu i portrety. Te dwa tematy wiele razy pojawiały się w jej pracach.
Lola wystawiała swoje prace na całym świecie – brała udział w wielu wystawach indywidualnych i zbiorowych. Była także kuratorką Independent Photography Festival w Londynie, licznych publikacji książkowych i wystaw.
It’s a portrait of an old friend of mine. It was a test and we were going to take some more to make a series. I guess we will get around to it one day. I really love her expression and its definitely one of my favourite pictures Ive taken this year.
Lola Paprocka is a London based photographer, curator publisher and art director. Originally from Poland she moved to London 13 years ago. She mainly works with medium format and occasionally 35mm. Lola is a founder of Palm Studios , platform that promotes photographers, produce exhibitions and has its own publishing house called Palm*. Her inspirations come mainly from brutalist architecture and portraiture. These two themes are present themselves multiple times through out her body of work. Lola has exhibited globally in various group shows and photography festivals as well as curated Independent Photography Festival in London and many book launches and solo exhibitions.
