‘145 days’ project – open call for Ukrainian photographers

The project ‘145 days’ corresponds to the imprisonment of the Ukrainian film director Oleg Sentsov, who is serving a 20-year prison sentence in Russia. On the 14th of May Oleg began his hunger strike to demand the release of several dozen other Ukrainian political prisoners. Due to the critical condition of his health and to pathological changes in his internal organs he called off the strike on the 21 st of September. His strike lasted 145 days.

We are looking for Ukrainian artists who took a picture during these 145 days. We are not looking for activists involved in protests. We rather want to deepen themes undertaken by artists in times of oppression.

Please send us a proposition of photograph, date when it was taken, description of it and your bio. We want to organise an exhibition of chosen photographs in 2019. Please note that not all of the photographs will be chosen.
