To zdjęcie było głęboko ukryte na moim komputerze, ale w końcu udało mi się je odnaleźć. To jedna z pierwszych fotografii, która zainspirowała mnie do pracy z przetwarzaniem materiałów fotograficznych. Uwielbiam prostotę i bezpretensjonalność tego obrazu – to cechy, które cały czas inspirują mnie podczas eksperymentowania z foudfootage. Uwielbiam też tę kobietę w kwiatowej sukience, stojącą na tle surowej ściany. 

Dagmar Kolatschny – studiowała na kierunku Educational Science, Psychology ans Sociology na Freie Universität w Berlinie. Do roku 2006, rozwijała projekty gier komputerowych dla dzieci jako project manager i pisarka scenariuszy. Studiowała fotografię na VHS Kreuzberg i na Ostkreuzschule w Berlinie. W 2013 roku ukończyła MFA program in Photography na Hartford Art School, w Stanach Zjednoczonych. Pracuje na polu grafiki, ilustracji i fotografii. Mieszka w Berlinie.

This picture was hidden deeply on my computer, but I managed to find it. I remember it as one of the first images that made me start working with old, found photographic material. I love the prosaicness and the casualness of the image – qualities that still inspire me while experimenting with found images. And I love the woman with the flower dress in front of the rough wall.

Dagmar Kolatschny studied Educational Science, Psychology and Sociology at Freie Universität Berlin. Until 2006 she developed computer games for children as a project manager and script writer. She studied photography at VHS Kreuzberg and at Ostkreuzschule Berlin. In 2013 she graduated from the MFA program in Photography at Hartford Art School, USA. She lives in Berlin and works in the field graphics, illustration and photography.

Dagmar Kolatschny is interested in exploring the neglected and converting it into something unique in her images. Much of her work is inspired by found photographs; by searching for visual treasures in piles of discarded photographs, she looks for images that explore and evolve her visual language.
